I want to hear the methods you guys use to shade
I use one that's very fast easy and convenient but not always best quality, especially for higher levels of realism
So I want to modify how I do it but still keep the conveniences that I need to have
These are the ones I'm aware of (optional to read):Greyscale where you shade in grey scale and then plop the color on top, whether that be with opacity, color replacement etc. I want to hear other ways you guys plop the color on top xD
Painting so you literally select every single color to shade at a time. Also, you have to shade accordingly to markings... yes or no? I really want to do this but it's extremely tedious, especially with roans D: am I right?
Opacity the one I do: take black and white, turn brush opacity down and just shade on top. Super awesome because no changing colors much nor having to do so at the markings. However choppy lines can be seen
Layering where you tone down the base color and then shade accordingly, and then tone down again, keep shading, tone down again
ideally painting but doing all the shading for one color and then changing colors... thing is how do you deal with markings, especially like appy?
If you have a different method or a combo modification etc. I would so love to hear it
I am not trying to steal your methods but I want to find a combination of ideas to fit my style
thanks!
I've been bouncing back and forth between methods for a very long time so any ANY input is really helpful
